Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers are essential for safeguarding lives and property by providing a first line of defence against fire outbreaks. Whether its Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF), CO2, Dry Powder, enviroFoam Flourine Free Foam, Water or Wet Chemical, each type of extinguisher is designed to combat specific fire classes, ensuring the right protection for any environment. Regular maintenance and servicing of these extinguishers are crucial to ensure they function correctly in an emergency.

Our expertise in supplying and servicing a wide range of fire extinguishers, alongside our commitment to the standards of the British Fire Consortium, guarantees that you have the most effective tools on hand to prevent small fires from becoming catastrophic.

Whatever you need, we’ve got you covered. View our full range of fire extinguishers below.

AFFF Foam Fire Extinguishers

AFFF Aqueous Film Forming Foam Fire Extinguisher

AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) fire extinguishers offer some additional benefits over water units. Not only do they typically have higher fire ratings, but they are also suitable for Class B fires involving flammable liquids, as well as Class A fires involving combustible materials. They are highly effective fire extinguishers with a rapid flame knockdown, and do not compromise visibility for safe building evacuation.

Our range of AFFF fire extinguishers consists of a 6 litre which features a 21A 144B fire rating and a 9 litre with a 27A 183B rating. Both units are 35kVa dielectrically tested and safe for inadvertent use on fires involving live electrical equipment. The units are Kitemarked and come with a full 5-year warranty.

  • Manufactured and Kitemarked to BS EN3
  • Strong base skirt for protection
  • MED approved
  • Corrosion-resistant finish
  • Built to last – ideal for harsh environments
  • Perfect choice for a service exchange product
  • Full range of spare parts available
  • Easy to service
  • 5-year warranty

Please note that AFFF fire extinguishers are being phased out. After July 2025, these will be replaced with enviroFoam fluorine-free fire extinguishers (see below).

enviroFoam Fluorine Free Fire Extinguishers

When tackling a Class A fire, CommanderEDGE enviroFoam Fluorine Free Foam works by rapidly cooling the burning material. The foam acts as a wetting agent, resulting in excellent and effective surface coverage of charred material. The foam also sticks to the surface of the material, further helping cool the fire. On a Class B fire, it creates a layer of dense foam that rapidly forms a blanket on the surface of the fire. This cuts off the oxygen supply, quickly extinguishing the fire. The foam blanket also helps to cool the fire, further preventing reignition.

CommanderEDGE Fluorine Free Foam fire extinguishers boast incredible ratings: 27A 144B for 6-litre units and 34A 183B for 9-litre units. The internationally recognised BS Kitemark further assures this dependability in design and manufacturing.

  • Fluorine free foam concentrate contains no PFAS, making them completely environmentally friendly
  • The range is available in 6 and 9 litre capacities to suit a variety of applications
  • Easy and ergonomic operation that offers fast and effective extinguishing
  • Design allows for economical maintenance and service, as well as the possibility of multiple refilling
  • Tough, corrosion resistant finish that’s resistant to UV rays
  • Interior of cylinder features anti-corrosive layer
  • European manufacture
  • CommanderEDGE quality that you can trust

CO₂ Fire Extinguishers

CO2 Fire Extinguisher

A COfire extinguisher is an ideal choice for Class B fires involving flammable liquids and electrical risk fires, due to them being non-damaging to electrical equipment and machinery. Our Commander Renovated CO₂ fire extinguishers are not only cost-effective but they also offer a more environmentally friendly solution.

The manufacturing process involves the prevention of disposing good materials and instead reusing in the form of a renovated CO₂ fire extinguisher unit, meaning a much lesser impact on the environment. Old CO₂ fire extinguishers are shotblasted to remove all old paint and labels, new valve assemblies are then fitted, cylinders are refilled and then finally they are resprayed and labelled.

However don’t underestimate their performance, not only are they pleasing on the eye, you can still expect the high performing-qualities of which Commander units are renowned for.

  • Corrosion-resistant finish
  • Full range of spare parts available
  • 5-year warranty
